IBANK (CAMBODIA) PLC. today announced the launch of its new Viet QR cross-border payment service, allowing customers to easily and securely make payments in Vietnam using their iBank KH mobile banking app. This new feature enables Cambodian users to pay for goods and services in Khmer Riel (KHR) simply by scanning a Viet QR code at participating merchants across Vietnam.

Cross-Border QR Payment​ between Cambodia and Vietnam has been launched on December 3, 2023 by The National Bank of Cambodia and the State Bank of Vietnam in order to ease goods and services payment and to promote the wide use of KHR currency and financial inclusion in ASEAN region in line with integration of ASEAN Economic Community (AEC).

“This is a major milestone for regional financial integration,” said Mr. Hong Sokleng, CEO of IBANK. “By linking our digital banking ecosystem with Viet QR, we’re giving our customers seamless access to cross-border payments, whether they are traveling or shopping in Vietnam. The new feature enables iBank customers to scan Viet QR codes and pay instantly from KHR account, with funds automatically converted to VND at competitive exchange rates.”
